Article Processing Charges
JACOBS is an open-access journal: readers pay nothing to access articles. To cover the costs of publication, the journal charges an Article Processing Charge (APC) only after a manuscript has been accepted for publication.
Fees
| Item | Indonesian authors | International authors |
|---|---|---|
| Article submission | Free (IDR 0) | Free (USD 0) |
| Peer review | Free (IDR 0) | Free (USD 0) |
| Article Processing Charge (after acceptance) | 0 IDR per article | 0 IDR per article |
| Fast-track review | Not offered. Payment never accelerates or influences the review process. | |
| Additional pages, color figures | No additional charge | |
What the APC Covers
- Management of peer review and the editorial workflow;
- Similarity checking;
- Copyediting, layout, and proofreading;
- DOI registration with Crossref;
- Online hosting with immediate and permanent open access;
- Deposit of metadata with indexing services and long-term preservation.
Payment Procedure
- After acceptance, the corresponding author receives an official invoice by email with the payment instructions.
- Payment is made by bank transfer within 14 days of the invoice date.
- Proof of payment is sent to journal.nalatama@gmail.com or uploaded through OJS.
- The journal issues a receipt, and the article proceeds to production.
Payment details are provided only in the official invoice. Please do not make payments to accounts communicated by any other means, and report any suspicious payment request to the editorial office.
Waivers and Discounts
- Full waiver for corresponding authors based in countries on the Research4Life Group A list.
- 50% discount for corresponding authors based in countries on the Research4Life Group B list.
- Discretionary waiver or discount for authors without research funding, such as students and early-career researchers, upon written request at the time of submission.
Waiver requests are handled by the Managing Editor and the publisher. Editors and reviewers who evaluate the manuscript are not informed about the request, so it cannot affect the editorial decision.
Refunds
The APC is fully refunded if the journal is unable to publish an accepted and paid article for reasons attributable to the journal. Once production has started, the APC is not refunded if the authors withdraw the article. Retraction after publication does not entitle the authors to a refund.
